Walter Wayne Hanna

Walter Wayne Hanna, born in Hackberry, La, son of the late Woodford Worth and Maggie Elethia (Hebert) Hanna, passed away surrounded by his family, on Friday, February 25, 2022, at the age of 80.
Walter retired from Lyondell Basell after 37 years of service. In his spare time, he was an avid fisherman and enjoyed spending time at his camp on Toledo Bend. He was active in all of his grandchildren’s sporting activities.
He is preceded in death by his parents, and siblings, Judson Hanna, and Nancy Wilson.
Walter is survived by his wife of 60 years, Carol (Roy) Hanna; children, Dianna “Dee Dee” Meche (David); Woodford “Woodie” Hanna, and Rebecca Ardoin (Aaron); sister, Lettie Bell Hanna Vonderzwagg (Roger); grandchildren, Brittany and Drew Fontenot; Nicholas “Nick” Ardoin; Landon Ardoin; step-grandchildren, Courtnie O’Blanc; Trinity Meche; Brityn Meche (Kim); Gillyn Meche (Allysa); 2 great-grandchildren, Parker and Mallory Fontenot; 12 step-great-grandchildren, and 1 step- great-great grandson.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be in Immaculate Conception Cathedral on Monday, March 7, 2022, at 1:30 p.m. with Rev. Aubrey Guilbeau, Celebrant. Cremation will follow the service under the direction of Johnson & Brown Funeral Home of Iowa. Visitation is Monday from 10 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. in Johnson & Brown Funeral Home of Iowa, with a rosary recited at 10:30 a.m.
