Walter Lee Breaux

August 22, 1936 — June 9, 2017

Walter Lee Breaux, 80, of Lake Charles passed away suddenly, Friday, June 9, 2017 in his residence.

 

Mr. Breaux was a native of the Holmwood area and a graduate of Bell City High School. He has been a member of Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic for over sixty years and he and his wife worked as volunteers at the church for many years. Mr. Breaux was a Veteran of the U.S. Army during the Korean War and retired from Olin Chemical after many years of service. He loved gardening, reading, watching westerns, and teasing his family.

 

He is survived by his wife of fifty-nine years, Katherine Sue Breaux; two daughters, Laura Lewis and husband Taylor of Conroe, TX and Walynn McFarland and husband Greg of Cypress, TX; sister, Euna Mae Justice Opelousas; six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

 

His Funeral Mass will be at 11:00 AM, Monday, June 12, 2017 from Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church. Reverend Matthew Cormier will officiate. Burial will be in Consolata Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM, today, with a rosary being recited at 6:00 PM and continue from 8:00 AM until 10:30 AM, Monday, in the funeral home.
