Wanda Rae Marie Fontenot Guidry

Wanda Rae Marie Fontenot Guidry, 82, of Lake Charles passed away at 2:10
AM on Thursday, January 17, 2019 in a local hospice facility.

Mrs. Guidry was born on July 16, 1936 and resided in Fenton for 69 years where she attended Fenton High School. She moved to Lake Charles in 2005 following Hurricane Rita.

She was an avid soap opera viewer and frequently visited the local casinos. What she will be remembered for the most is being the BEST "maw maw" to her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She lived her life for them and put every one of them on a well deserved pedestal.

Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Bernie Lemieux of Lake Charles, Phil Lemieux of Kinder, Gary Guidry (Kathy) of Welsh, Denise Langley (Danny) of Hathaway, Linda Guidry of Lake Charles, and Janice Gary of Westlake. She also leaves behind her 23 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren whom she adored.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gaston Guidry, Jr.; son, Greg Lemieux; and two beloved great grandchildren, Kara Lemieux and Kobe Bertrand.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, January 22, 2019 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Marcus Wade will officiate. Cremation will take place following the services. Visitation will begin on Monday from 12:00 PM until 8:00 PM and will continue on Tuesday from 9:00 AM until the start of the service.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family for outstanding expenses.
