LeBleu Settlement – Rev. Wayne Broussard, 62, passed away on February 22, 2017, surrounded by his family.
Wayne was born in Lake Charles, LA on April 16, 1954 to Gordon and Nola Broussard. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, working in his flower beds and had a great love for singing and playing music. His favorite pastime was attending Iowa High football games because he was the number one fan. LET’S GO IOWA. He attended East Ridge Baptist Church, was a member of SWLA Daylily Club and Cenla Daylily club. He was a Bishop in the Church of God and served the LA COG State Youth board. Wayne was employed with Stine Lumber of Iowa until he retired. Throughout his life, Wayne worked with the Sheriff Dept., Fire Chief for District 2 fire department, Bus driver for CPSB and was also Pastor of Living Water Ministries from 2000-2015.
Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Barbara Broussard; children, Michelle Broussard Elias and husband Jason, Jamie Broussard Smith and husband Ronnie, Michael Broussard, Rebecca Broussard Daigle and husband Timothy, Jacob Broussard; mother, Nola Broussard; brothers, Carl Broussard and wife Julie, Russell Broussard, Richard Broussard and wife Deidra; sisters, Tina Fuselier and husband Doug, Deanna Johnson and husband Ron, Lynette Sonnier and husband Brian; grandchildren; Megan, Haley, Alysia, Alyna, Jayden, Rylen, Maddison, Gabriel and great grandchild Gavin, pet dog Nugget. He is preceded in death by his daughter, Sara Broussard and father, Gordon Broussard.
Funeral services will be in Johnson & Brown Funeral Home on Monday, February 27, 2017 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Jacob Broussard and Bro. Alan Weishampel. Burial will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery. Visitation begins Sunday, February 26, 2017 from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. in Johnson and Brown Funeral Home and will continue Monday at 8:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. in the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Johnson & Brown Funeral Home.
