Wayne Broussard

December 4, 1947 — December 4, 2025

On his 78th birthday, December 4, 2025, Wayne Broussard rode on to his final rest. Born on December 4, 1947, Wayne left this world the same day he entered it – an unexpected but meaningful bookend to a life marked by purpose, grit and faith.

A cowboy through and through, he felt most at home beneath wide-open skies, boots dusted, hat tipped low. He was a man of simple truths-he appreciated honesty, the rhythm of a hard day’s work at Citgo, and the peace found in tending to his cows. His presence was strong without ever being loud. When Wayne walked into a room, you knew it-not because he demanded attention, but because his steady, unchanging nature carried its own weight.

Wayne also had a remarkable sense of humor. Whether it was a quick one-liner, a perfectly timed comment, or a look that said everything without a word, he knew how to lighten a moment. His family and friends will always remember the way he could make them laugh without ever trying too hard.

He was the same may every day-steady, reliable, and true to who he was. Wayne didn’t waver, didn’t pretend, and didn’t change with the wind. What you saw was what you got, and it was something solid, something genuine.

Though he carried his faith quietly, it shaped how he treated others-with kindness, respect, and integrity. He believed in living his values rather than talking about them, guiding his family not with speeches but with example.

Above all, Wayne was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He taught his family lessons they’ll hold close forever: work hard, stand tall, keep your word, laugh often, and be proud of who you are. His stories, his guidance, and the memory of his unwavering presence will continue to echo through generations.

Wayne is survived by his wife of 57 years, Charlotte Broussard; daughter, Brigette Hafer; daughter in love, Brandy Hearnsberger; grandchildren, Cadence and Todd Landry, Ora and Bailey Broussard, Kolby and Hannah Hafer; great grandchildren, Colleen, Teddy, Reed, Jameson, Bennett, Callahan, Quincy (ETA 2026), Corbin, Aubree, Bexleigh; and very special brothers in law and sisters in law. He is reunited with his mother, Edith Broussard; his father, Charles Hubert; his brothers, CJ, Carroll, and Arnold Broussard; his son, James Wayne Broussard; and his great granddaughter, Hadley Hafer.

The family would also like to thank Heart of Hospice for the help from all of the staff and for their care, compassion, and support.

Graveside services for Wayne will be hold on Monday, December 8, 2025, at 2 PM at Mimosa Pines Cemetery in Carlyss, LA with Pastor Larry LaFleur officiating.

Though his earthly trail has ended, his legacy-a life lived with strength, humor, honesty, and heart-will remain with all who were blessed to know him.
