Wednice Schexnider Colby

Wednice Schexnider Colby, 92, passed away on December 9, 2018.

Mrs. Colby grew up in Gum Cove, LA and lived her adult life in Lake Charles. She was a parishioner of Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church. Her greatest loves were family and traveling with her husband, Roland Colby.

She is survived by five children, Michael Colby (Juanette), Rhea Colby Messer (Robert), Valery Colby Lowin, Keith Colby (Jean), and Bryan Colby (Colleen); eleven grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and sister-in-law, Earline Schexnider.

She is preceded in death by her husband of sixty years, Roland Colby; six siblings, Calice Schexnider, Avie Schexnider, Aca Schexnider, Eunice Beard, her twin-Whitney Schexnider, and Nelton Schexnider.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at Our Lady of Good Counsel at 10AM on Wednesday, December 12. Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens.  Visitation will be at Johnson Funeral Home on Tuesday, December 11 from 5PM until 8PM with a rosary at 6PM.
