Wenona Ewing Shearman

Wenona Ewing Shearman "Noni," 62, passed away on June 21, 2025 in a Lake Charles care center. She was born on September 28, 1962 in Lake Charles to Jennings T. Ewing, Sr. and Margaret Maggio Ewing.

Noni grew up in Lake Charles. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from McNeese State University. She served faithfully on the Vestry of St. Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church.

Those left to cherish her memory are her mother, Margaret Maggio Ewing; her two children, Isabella Martha Shearman and Thomas Broadus Sherman IV; her sister, Dana Ewing Staub (Marc), and her brother, Jennings T. Ewing, Jr. (LeAnn); her nephews, Marcus Staub, Jr., Tyler Staub (Kathleen), Grey Staub, Hunter Ewing (Elise), and Margot Ewing. She was preceded in death by her father.

Noni's funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, July 25, 2025 at St. Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church, 123 W. Sale Rd., Lake Charles, with Reverend Andrew Christiansen serving as Celebrant. Visitation will begin at 9:30 AM on Friday at the church, continuing until the start of the service. Inurnment will follow in the church columbarium. Cremation has been entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home of Lake Charles.
