Wesley Anthony Mallett, born in Iowa on January 7, 1939, son of the late Wesley and Essie Mae Prudhomme Mallett, passed away in a local care facility on Thursday, March 19, 2025, at the age of eighty-six.
A graduate of Iowa High School, Wesley worked for the PPG Paint Store for many years. He was of the Catholic faith. An avid outdoorsman, Wesley especially enjoyed fishing, hunting, and fixing his paint machines. Most of all, he loved spending time with his grandchildren.
Wesley was recently the 2025 King of Mardi Gras at Holly Hill Nursing Home. He will be missed by all who knew him.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
Wesley is survived by his wife of sixty-three years, Wilma “Poochie” Mallett; children, Mitchell Malett, Mark Mallett (Patti), and Kelley Stratton (Gary); sister, Eljie Franklin; eight grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren.
A private graveside service will be in Lacassine Cemetery under the direction of Johnson & Brown Funeral Home of Iowa.
