Wilbert James "Bee Bee" Derouen

Wilbert James Derouen (Bee Bee), 77, born May 7, 1940 in Bell City, the son of the late Gordy and Marie (Lejune) Derouen, passed away Saturday, March 10, 2018 in a local hospital. He was a lifelong resident of Hayes and graduate of Bell City High School. He retired from the Calcasieu Parish School Board. He was an avid Christian and loved the Lord and wanted to share God’s love with everyone.

Survivors are his sons, Bryan and wife, Cheri Francois Derouen, Nicholas and wife, Melissa Drury Derouen; daughter Denise Derouen Daigle and husband, James (JJ), Jr.; mother of his children, Essie Mae Schexnider Derouen; grandchildren, Jayce Derouen (Stephanie), Jessa Lavergne (Trey), Gabrielle and Katelyn Derouen; grand-dog, Roux; great-grandchildren, Trace Derouen and one on the way, “Baby” Lavergne.

Funeral services are Tuesday, March 13, 2018 at 10 a.m. in Johnson & Brown Funeral Home – Iowa, with Rev. Kenny Hay officiating. Burial will follow in Hayes Cemetery.

Visitation begins Monday in the funeral home from 5 p.m. – 9 p.m. and resumes Tuesday from 8 a.m. until the time of service.
