Wilford Manuel Jr.

Wilford Manuel Jr., 86, of Sulphur, LA died on April 22, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. Wilford was born on April 20, 1938, in Oberlin, LA to Wilford and Blanche Manuel Sr.

Wilford enjoyed being around friends and family the most and visiting the elderly, spreading his loving heart and kindness to all that couldn’t do for themselves. He was a long-time member and deacon of Houston River Baptist Church where he enjoyed the faith and friendships of all. Wilford loved camping, fishing, gardening, and flowers in his time spent enjoying the great outdoors.

Those left to cherish his loving memory are his wife of 64 years, Ruby Manuel; three children, Sandra Miller, Mark Manuel and wife Kelly, and Deborah Navarre and husband Jareth; 11 grandchildren; and 2 great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents and 2 siblings.

Funeral services will be at 11 AM Saturday, April 27, 2024, at Houston River Baptist Church. Visitation will begin at 5 PM until 7:30 PM Friday, April 26, 2024, at Houston River Baptist Church. Visitation will resume from 10 AM until 11 AM on Saturday at the church. Mr. Wilford will be laid to rest at Sugartown Cemetery under the direction of Johnson and Robison Funeral Home. Pastor Lonnie Gothrup will officiate services.
