William “Bill” Foux, 75 of Lake Charles was called Home February 27, 2021.
Bill was one of three children born to John and Irene Foux, he was born on November 6, 1945.
A lifelong resident of Southwest Louisiana, he enjoyed hunting and fishing as a child. He was a graduate of LaGrange High School, Class of 1965. Shortly after graduation he was drafted to service in the Vietnam War for the United States Army. After serving two years, he received an honorable discharge.
After his return home, in April 1968 he exchanged vows with the love of his life, Mary Elaine. Together they welcomed two daughters, Amy & Jennifer. Bill was a devout and simple man, ever dutiful to his faith and family. He was a member of St. Martin DePorres Catholic Church. He worked hard to provide for his family, he worked for the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers as a Lock and Dam Operator until his retirement.
His love of family grew when he welcomed his grandchildren, whom called him PawPaw. Nothing brought him more joy than to hear of their days and sporting events. He always looked forward to visiting with them, especially when he could spoil them for the holidays. When he was not spending time with his family he enjoyed working in his yard.
He was welcomed into Heaven by his parents; and a brother, John A. Foux.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of fifty-three years, Mary Elaine; his daughters, Amy (Jonathan) Hanks, Jennifer (Zac) Quinlan; his grandsons, Ryan, Kade, & Jace Hanks, Tate and Reece Quinlan; a brother, Leo Eldon Foux; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
The family will welcome friends at St. Martin DePorres Catholic Church on Thursday, March 4, 2021 from 9:30am to 10:30am, with a rosary to begin at 10:30am. A mass of Christian burial led by Monsignor Jace Eskind will begin at 11am. He will be laid to rest at Consolata Cemetery.
