William Monroe "Bill" Blevins, 58, of Westlake died at 6:25 PM on Friday, December 10, 2010 in a local hospital.
Mr. Blevins was born on January 15, 1952 in Lake Charles, LA. He was a 1971 graduate of Lake Charles High School and attended McNeese State University. Mr. Blevins retired as a supervisor from Alcoa after 35 years of service. He was of the Methodist Faith.
He enjoyed many things in life, including golf, cooking and fishing. He was an avid sports fan especially of McNeese, LSU, and Astros. Mr. Blevins cherished spending time with his family.
Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Christy Hanks Blevins of Westlake; one son, Paul Blevins and wife Carey of Lake Charles; a step son, Samuel Tyler "Sam" Sonnier of Westlake; three brothers, Jack and Mike Blevins both of Lake Charles and Ken Blevins of Tennessee; and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dorothy and Jack Blevins, Sr. and an uncle, Ken Platts.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, December 13, 2010 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Deacon George Carr will officiate. Burial will be in Prien Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be on Sunday from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM with a scripture service being held at 5:30 PM. Visitation will continue on Monday from 9:00 AM until time of services.
