William Edward Whited Sr.

William Edward Whited, Sr., 91, of Jennings passed away at 6:37 PM on Tuesday, November 28, 2017 in a veteran’s home in Jennings.

Mr. Whited was born on September 11, 1926 in Lebanon, TN. He spent most of his life in Madison, TN until moving to Deridder in 1998. Mr. Whited served in the US Navy during World War II. He was a Pastor for more than 40 years. He is remembered as a godly, compassionate minister. His consistent life is an inspiration to all who knew him.

Those left to cherish his memory are a son, William E. Whited, Jr. (Thelma) of Lake Charles; siblings, Ronald Whited (Sue) of Portland, TN, Burton Whited (Sandra) of Lebanon, TN, Albert Whited, Jr. of Hendersonville, TN, Danny Whited (Barbara) of Bon Aqua, TN, and Brenda Martin of Whitehouse, TN; a grandson, William E. Whited, III (Jennifer) of Monroe; granddaughters, Julia Dowd (Brian) of Jasper, AL and Lorie Simon (Larry) of Lake Charles; and nine great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Whited; siblings, Earl, Carl, and Herman Whited, and Velda Bell; and his parents, Lilly and Albert Whited, Sr.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, December 1, 2017 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Lyndell Day will officiate. Burial will follow in Beauregard Memorial Cemetery in Deridder. Visitation will begin on Friday from 10:00 AM until the start of the service.
