William Lampirez

William "Billy" "Hog Dog Daddy" Owens Lampirez, 46, of Moss Bluff, passed away in a local hospital at 5:10 AM on Saturday, July 17, 2010 after a brave long battle with cancer.


Billy was born February 17, 1964 in Lake Charles, LA. He worked as a contractor, owning a successful business before he went to work for six years at Home Depot as the contract sales manager. He loved his job and will be remembered as a company man, "living and breathing the orange". Billy was a self taught musician, he sang and played the base guitar, lead guitar and was a talented musician. Over the years, he was part of a number of bands, most recently Steppin Out. He loved spending time with his buddy and best friend, Uncle John, fishing for bass reds. He was an animal lover. He will always be remembered as a kind, loving, and generous person, who was always willing to offer help to anyone, often playing music at benefits. An avid motorcyclist, he loved riding his Harley with Sally. He was the webmaster for the LCHOG (Lake Charles Harley Owners Group), where he was called the "Hog Dog Daddy." Get Busy Livin' Get Busy Ridin' was the phrase that he coined and loved.


Mr. Lampirez is survived by his loving wife, Sally Daigle Lampirez, mother, Shirley Weisenberger of Moss Bluff , daughter, Shandi Lampirez and fiance', Cody King of Sulphur ; grandchildren, Ani and Shy Grubb, step-children, Janice Marceaux and husband Jerimy of Little Rock, AR, Clifton Law and fiance'e Brittni Granger of Lake Charles, and Lindsay Law and fiance' Jacob Fusilier of Lake Charles; siblings, Jody Fontenot and wife Rachel of Beaumont, TX, Tommy Lampirez and wife Jamie of Dumas, AR, Timothy Lampirez and wife Leah of Redfield, AR, and Monica Austin of Star City, AR; step-grand-children, Dayton Marceaux and Mason Fusilier; aunts and uncles, John and Gloria Hebert of Moss Bluff and Marguerite Meaux of Longville, LA; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family members.


He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Lee Lampirez; step-father, Fred Weisenberger; and grandparents, Willie and Odessel Slayton and Thomas and Mary Lampirez.


His funeral service will be at 11:00 AM on Thursday, July 22, 2010 at the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Father Keith Pellerin will officiate. Burial will follow in Hebert Cemetery in Hecker, LA. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Wednesday from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM with a celebration of life service at 6:00 PM. Visitation will continue on Thursday from 9:00 AM until the start of the service.


In honoring Billy's request, his family wishes to thank all the staff of Lake Charles Memorial Hospital, Drs. Gaharan, Bergeron, Broussard, and especially to the nurses Skyle and Raye, for the care and compassion given to Billy and his family.
