Willie Guillory Mcmullen

Willie Guillory McMullen was born August 14, 1935 in Fenton, La., the second of 5 children and only daughter to Mary and Evans Guillory. She passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 17, 2017 in a Lafayette hospital surrounded by her entire family.

Willie will be remembered for her strong love and devotion to her family, her quick wit, great sense of humor and feisty personality that made her unique to all that knew her.  She was loved and will be greatly missed.

Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. on Thursday, December 21 at Immaculate Conception Church in Sulphur with the Mass of Christian Burial immediately following at noon with Father Edward Richard, M.S. and Deacon Chris Gregory officiating. She will be laid to rest in Lewis Cemetery of DeRidder at 3 p.m. under the direction of Johnson-Robison Funeral Home.

Cherishing her memory are her two daughters: Chris McMullen Bellard and husband Ricky of Lafayette, Kathy McMullen Trahan and husband Matt of Sulphur; two sons: Bill McMullen and wife Lisa of Sulphur, and John McMullen and wife Melanie of Sulphur.

She was affectionately known as “Moni” to her grandchildren, Matthew Bellard, Jordan Bellard Steelman, James McMullen, LeighAnn McMullen Leonards, Hallie McMullen, Jenny McMullen, John Cabot McMullen and Laura McMullen Fletcher; her great-grandchildren, Jack Thomas Leonards, Ellie Kate Fuselier and Ben Caswell Steelman. She also leaves her older brother and best friend, James Guillory along with many family friends.

Willie was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, B.H. (Bud) McMullen; her parents, Mary and Evans Guillory; and three brothers, Evans Guillory, Jr., Donald Guillory and Richard Guillory.

The family would like to thank Dr. Marne’ Devillier, Dr. Maximo Lamarche and the staffs of Lafayette General Medical Center and Camelot of Broussard for the excellent care our mother received.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Immaculate Conception Church of Sulphur.
