Willis “Dub” David Fults, 88, of Lake Charles passed away at 5:08 PM on Friday, June 19, 2026 in his residence.
Born in Vinton, Louisiana, on July 8, 1937, Mr. Fults was raised in Lake Charles, where he attended local elementary schools and proudly graduated as a member of the first graduating class of LaGrange High School in 1955.
His dedication to service began early when he joined the Army National Guard in 1954. After two years, he enlisted in the United States Navy, completing 18 weeks of boot camp in San Diego, California, followed by three months of training in Great Lakes, Illinois. He then served aboard the USS Bryce Canyon (AD-36), making two deployments to the Far East, with visits to Japan, China, the Philippines, and Hawaii. He was honorably discharged in 1960 and continued serving in the Naval Reserves for four additional years.
Following his military service, he worked for Olin Matheson for two years before beginning a distinguished career with Conoco in 1962. Over the course of 47 years, he worked his way from operator to operations supervisor, then unit supervisor, and ultimately served as East Plant Supervisor for the final 19 years of his career. He retired from Conoco Vista after nearly five decades of dedicated service. Even in retirement, his expertise was highly valued, and he was asked to return to oversee a special project involving China.
He served as an Operator Instructor through PTEC at Sowela Technical Institute, helping train and mentor generations of plant operators.
A longtime member of the local bowling community, he was known for his strong work ethic and his ability to build, repair, or improve just about anything. He enjoyed spending time fishing and took great pride in growing vegetables in his garden.
Those left to cherish his memory are the love of his life for 70 years, Patsy Comeaux Fults; children David Fults, Karen Latham, Mark Fults, and Susan Buller (Stephen); sister, Ruth Sarvant; grandchildren, Jared (Sonia), Courtney (Clayton), Nichole (Jared), Brittany (Ethan),Adrienne (Will), Austin, Sarah (Chris), Jacob (Ayanna), Ethan, Michael, and Tyler; and great grandchildren, Davin, Brant, Brody, Aria, Lila, and Kendra Louise.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Guessner, Sr. and Thelma Fults; siblings, Velma Kennedy, Guessner Fults, Jr., and Clarence Fults; daughter in law, Kendra Kay Reed Fults; and a grandson, Ashton Fults.

Burial will follow in Consolata Cemetery. Visitation will begin on Monday from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM with a rosary being recited at 6:00 PM.
