Yvonne Inez Trahan, 94, of Sulphur, LA passed away on Saturday, October 12, 2024, in a local care facility surrounded by her loving family. Yvonne was born on February 16, 1930, in Church Point, LA to Joseph and Emelia Murrell. She enjoyed seamstress work the most in life. Over the 60 years of being very talented Yvonne was a seamstress who made dresses, suits, quilts, and many other items for the community. She will always be known for the love shown to her family and friends. She enjoyed cooking, dancing and supporting her children and grandchildren in all that they set out to accomplish. She was a member of Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church and worked for Burton’s grocery as a cashier in her younger days.
Those left to cherish her memory are her five children, Robert Garland Trahan (Monica), Beth Best, Kenneth Dwayne Trahan, Patrick Brian Trahan, and Kerry Layne Trahan and wife Charlene; grandchildren, Trent, Kisha, Jonathan, Tasia, Denee, Meryl, Jason, Jared, Jacob, Chris and Tanner; numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; siblings, Jimmy Murrell, Mary Louise LaBove, and Stella Johnson.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband Floyd Lee Trahan; parents; son, Randall Trahan; grandchildren, Bliss Trahan, Scotty Trahan, and Misty Trahan; and siblings, Wayne, Gernsie, Raymond, Norma, Billy, George, Calvin, Francis and Veronica.
A Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:00 AM Tuesday October 15th, 2024, at St. Theresa’s Catholic Church. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM with a 6:00 PM rosary on Monday October 14th, 2024, at Johnson Funeral Home of Sulphur. Visitation will resume from 8:00 AM until 9:30 AM on Tuesday at Johnson Funeral Home of Sulphur. Burial will be at Mimosa Pines South. Fr. Sibi Kunninu M.S. will officiate services.
