Zachery Louis Smith, born in Crowley on July 8, 2005, son of Ovey Louis Smith, and Kristy Richard Smith, passed away on June 7, 2023, at the age of 17.
Zachery attended Bell City High School and Simon Youth Academy. He was a member of FFA and Vineyard Church of Lake Charles. Zachery was employed with Austin’s Lawn Care and previously worked for Subway in Grand Lake. Zachery enjoyed fixing cars, riding dirt bikes, mud riding, hunting, fishing, building stuff, hanging out with friends, especially his best friend Christian Fontenot and his siblings. Zachery loved making people smile.
He is preceded in death by his great-grandparents, Earl and Violet Coble, Noah and Hazel Smith.
Zachery is survived by his father, Ovey Louis Smith (Mary Simon); mother, Kristy Richard Smith (Elza Thibodeaux); siblings, Michael, Kimberlee, Samantha, Joseph, Lexie ; grandparents, Eura and Sam Lombardo, Rita and Pat Menard; uncles, Ryan Menard, Joshua Smith; aunts, Joedi Richard, Candace Menard; numerous cousins.
Funeral services will be on Saturday, June 10, 2023, at 1 p.m. in the Chapel in Revival Park at Vineyard Church of Lake Charles, Pastor Zack Rodriguez officiating. Burial will follow in Hayes Cemetery under the direction of Johnson & Brown Funeral Home of Iowa. Visitation begins Friday, June 9, 2023 in the Chapel in Revival Park at Vineyard Church from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. Visitation will continue in the Chapel in Revival Park at Vineyard Church of Lake Charles on Saturday, June 10, from 9 a.m. until 1 pm.
