Howard D. “Bud” Nash, 81, of Moss Bluff was reunited with his high school

Sweetheart Sunday, March 7, 2021.

Bud was a native of Kurthwood, Louisiana and moved to DeRidder at a young age. He graduated from DeRidder High School with his best friend and wife, Mildred Bulllock Nash in 1958. After high school, Bud began his military career. He loved jumping out of planes as a part of the 82nd Airborne. The family traveled the world before settling in Moss Bluff. Mildred was the owner and operator of Nannie and Poppie’s Daycare and they shared their lives with many children in their community. Bud loved gardening and fed many people with his talent. He also designed and worked on the landscaping at his church, Westside Baptist.

He is proceeded in death by his wife; parents, James E. and Willie L Nash; his siblings, Dee and Bill, and his nephew Robert. He is survived by his baby sister, Wanda Sue; his 4 daughters, Melanie Gentry and husband of Westlake, Diane Huisingh and husband of Valdez, AK, Hester LeMire and husband of Bentonville, AR and Heather Medicis and husband of Moss Bluff. He enjoyed spoiling rotten his 7 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews and teaching each and everyone of them how to spit.

Visitation will be at Johnson Funeral Home Moss Bluff Friday March 12th from 5-8pm. A graveside service will be held at Old Richie Cemetery 10:00am Saturday, March 13th, 2021. We ask that you help us celebrate his life by wearing Saint’s colors. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Samaritians Purse, City of Refuge in Vinton, Wounded Warrior Project or the Westside Baptist landscaping fund.
